Ariadna Alvarado

My name is Ariadna Alvarado and I was Born in Venezuela and raised between Caracas, Paris and Washington, D.C.
I am a film documentary maker and producer with an extensive professional career encompassing the fields of cultural journalism, videojournalism, cultural development, communication for development, film festivals, film and TV production, performing arts, and marketing within the United Nations community and private sector in Afghanistan, Spain, Timor-Leste,India, Venezuela and the United States, as well as working with non-profit arts and cultural organizations developing and implementing special arts and film projects within the context of Human Rights and Women’s Rights issues. I have worked as a producer for various shorts, feature and documentary films. “Circus School” was my first documentary as director in Barcelona, Spain. I currently work as TV/Film Producer for the United Nations Mission in Afghanistan implementing special film, arts and media projects for peacebuilding, specially for Women's Rights and Human Rights.

I am a member of the Washington D.C. Women in Film and Video, the National Association of Latino Independent Producers and Women in Film & Video of Afghanistan. I hold a BA on Arts & Humanities from the University of Maryland and an MA in Documentary Filmmaking from Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB) in Spain.

I would like to hear more about Talent for Humanity and see how we can bring it to Afghanistan and help and promote Afghan artist.
