Debi Gajewski

I am a professional storyteller in all genres. I work in all areas of the public from Senior care centers, libraries, festivals, conventions, schools, museums, churches and private organizations.
I love telling the stories to the Alzheimers to increase their memory activity. I love when I am challenged to create stories for education and to uncover the things swept under the carpets and bring them to the forefront.
I am an artist as well and teach. I work in a number of mediums...One of the most challenging teaching jobs that I have acquired is teaching Alzheimer patients. It is quite the challenge from teach standard art.
I am currently writing 2 books...one on a piece of hidden Chicago History and another of stories from my youth.
I produce a storytelling festival in Glenview, Illinois which is hooked onto the Folk Fest held there each October. I am also the president of Windy City Storytelling Guild. I am as well the recipient of the Illinois Storytelling 2012 Grant which allowed me to give back to a demographially lowered income area with my storytelling.
